Shall I propose a guy who’s 5 years younger to me?
Query: Hi, I am 27 years old, professionally successful woman and I have fallen for a man who is five years younger to me.
We have been childhood friends and he is my neighbour as well. I am sure our families won’t like to support this relationship but I truly want to give this relationship a chance
I think he also has a crush on me. Here’s another problem. He is just 22 years old and presently preparing for his masters. Is he mature enough to understand the dynamics of such relationship? I am totally confused, please advise me something.
Response : Being attractive towards someone is natural, especially someone you know from past few years. However, being in a long term committed relationship requires constant efforts from both sides.
I comprehend that you are a successful woman and you are falling for your childhood friend who also happens to be your neighbour. You also mentioned that he is five years younger to you and you are not sure if he is mature enough to understand the dynamics of this relationship.
Firstly, I would suggest that you reflect on your feelings and understand whether this is momentary attraction or something serious
Secondly, you are not sure if he likes you, you are assuming that he has a crush on you. Therefore, speak to him and find out if he is attracted towards you or is looking for a relationship as he is still pursuing his education.
Lastly, I would suggest you speak to a professional counsellor to get clarity on this subject.
